CSI to ship 5 million compact camera modules

Taiwan – Manufacturer of color contact image sensor modules Creative Sensor Inc. (CSI) expects its shipment of compact camera sensor modules to reach more than 5 million units this year.

 

The growing demand for portable devices with cameras prompted CSI's compact camera modules business to flourish for the past few months. The company expects compact camera modules to account for 20 percent of its total annual revenues for this year. Last year, the segment accounted for only 2 percent to 3 percent of the company's overall revenue.

In related news, CSI has invested about $12.2 million to expand its production facilities in Wuxi, Jiangsu in China. The company is scheduled to install additional production lines, which are expected to begin operations in the second quarter of next year.
