Vimicro launches latest Web camera processor for laptop embedded cameras

China(mainland) – Vimicro Int’l Corp. has launched its latest Web camera processor—the VC0343—that is optimized specifically for use in laptop embedded camera modules. The VC0343 features low-power consumption, reducing the camera module’s operating temperature and extending a laptop’s battery life. It measures 6.5mmx5mm and can easily be embedded into laptops’ LCD panel. It features an integrated 2MP CMOS sensor and supports high-speed USB 2.0 and USB Video Class (UVC) 1.0 standards.

 

The Web camera processor is compatible with the latest operating systems and PC hardware platforms. It adopts one time programmable (OTP) ROM and firmware patch technologies, allowing it great flexibility for manufacturers to design the camera module, as well as make partial modifications to the firmware through external EEPROM memory even after OTP replication is completed.
